Position Overview The Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and maintaining network and infrastructure across corporate IT, NOC, remote sites, vessel-based systems, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP). This role ensures secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and both planned and emergency maintenance. Working closely with IT teams, NOC engineers, and customer technical staff, the Network Engineer supports incident response, escalation, and resolution to maintain network performance and availability. The position reports to the Cloud and Infrastructure Manager. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain network infrastructure across corporate IT, remote sites, vessel environments and NOC-managed networks to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. Support cloud networking environments in Azure, AWS, and GCP, including connectivity, security, and performance optimization. Troubleshoot network incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis and driving timely resolution. Manage and troubleshoot WAN, Internet, telecommunications, and carrier connectivity, coordinating with service providers to resolve outages and performance issues Perform network configuration and maintenance for routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise wireless infrastructure, including access points, controllers, authentication, and performance. Support NOC operations, including alert monitoring, escalation handling, and coordination during service-impacting events. Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, segmentation, and secure remote access. Participate in planned and emergency maintenance activities, including upgrades, patching, and infrastructure changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors/customers to support network initiatives, deployments, and issue resolution. Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Support capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure scalable and efficient network operations across all environments. Ensure applicable regulatory requirements are met for qualifying outages, including timely FCC notifications and reporting when required. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience)Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and TCP/IPExperience with Azure, AWS, GCP, and network monitoring/management tools Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues in real time Experience in 24/7 environments with understanding of firewalls, segmentation, and secure access Ability to collaborate across teams and produce clear technical documentationNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
