We deliver financial consulting, tax strategy, long-term planning, operational efficiencies and financial transformation, and Fractional and Advisory CFO services to clients navigating complex environments with limited resources.  WHAT YOU’LL DO: This role supports our Fractional CFO Services Team, working primarily with rural hospitals. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, oversee accounting operations, and help healthcare clients strengthen financial performance, internal controls, and long-term sustainability. You’ll work closely with CFOs, Boards, and hospital leadership to bring clarity, structure, and strategic insight to complex healthcare finance environments.  Financial Oversight & Reporting Manage day-to-day accounting operations GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash flow)  Prepare GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Consolidate financials across multiple entities and track key performance indicators (KPIs) Assist with long-range financial planning Healthcare Compliance & Sector Expertise Support Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and cost reporting Assist with grant reporting, capital planning, and cash flow projections Coordinate audit readiness and liaise with external auditors Maintain internal controls appropriate for small, resource-constrained hospitals  Client & Team Collaboration   Partner with Fractional CFOs to deliver high-impact financial insight Mentor hospital finance teams and support process improvement Improve systems, reduce inefficiencies, and strengthen client outcomes Occasional travel to rural client sites ADDITIONAL SCOPE – CONTROLLER LEVEL Greater ownership of complex, multi-entity client portfolios Lead and review work of other consultants/accounting staff Serve as primary escalation point for technical accounting issues Play a key role in standardizing processes and scaling the CFO Services practice  WHAT YOU BRING: Experience & Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) CPA (preferred or required depending on organizational structure) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience,  3+ years in healthcare finance Experience with rural hospitals or community healthcare strongly preferred Comfortable supporting multiple clients in a consulting environment  Skills & Strengths Strong analytical and financial modeling skills Clear, confident communicator with clients and teams Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy Tech-savvy and experienced with healthcare accounting systems Mission-aligned with community-based healthcare Bonus Points Fractional CFO or outsourced accounting experience Rural healthcare or community hospital background Grant compliance or Single Audit experience WHY JFS? We value impact over ego, process over chaos, and people over politics. You’ll thrive in this role if you:  Want to grow with a scaling firm Enjoy seeing the ripple effects of financial decisions Align with our Core Values: We Coach, We Think, We Communicate, We’re Accountable, We’re Kind, We’re a Team (read more at jfsconsultingco.com)  We believe there is no task too small regardless of our role, always willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.  JOB TYPE: Full-time  COMPENSATION (Based on Level & Experience: Senior Healthcare Financial Consultant (CFO Consultant): $115,000 – $140,000 (dependent on experience and geographic location) Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, scope, and readiness for responsibility  BENEFITS: Health insurance through Aetna (premiums partially covered by JFS for employees) $0 cost dental and vision (fully covered for employees at base plan) 100% employer paid life insurance (at base plan) HSA/FSA accounts Retirement plan with 3% company match after 1 year 3 weeks PTO Up to $1,200 in professional development reimbursements per year $200 per year donation matching to support your favorite causes Company issued laptop Remote work environment with office in Grand Junction, Colorado Coaching and management support with regular 1:1 meetings Performance reviews and feedback to support you and the team to reflect and grow Corporate discounts via Vensure  WHAT TO EXEPECT IN THE INTERVIEW PROCESS: We want our interview process to respect your time as the applicant by being transparent and moving at a reasonable pace.
