About the role

The Nurse Assistant Instructor is responsible for providing classroom theory, skills laboratory instruction, and/or supervised clinical training to students enrolled in the California-approved Nurse Assistant Training Program. The instructor ensures students receive instruction consistent with the schools CDPH-approved curriculum, applicable California regulations, institutional policies, and established standards of nursing practice. The instructor provides competency-based education designed to prepare students to safely perform entry-level nurse assistant duties in long-term care and other healthcare settings and to meet eligibility requirements for the California Nurse Assistant Competency Examination.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must meet the applicable instructor qualifications established by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for an approved Nurse Assistant Training Program. Depending upon the instructional assignment and CDPH approval category, qualifications may include current California RN or LVN licensure, required nursing experience, experience providing care to chronically ill or elderly patients, and appropriate teaching or adult-education preparation.
