Job Description:
- Production Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing - Continuous Process
- West Bank, south of Baton Rouge, LA | Full-time, onsite
- Targeting $110,000-$135,000 base, depending on experience
About the opportunity:
We're partnered with a growing global specialty chemical manufacturer to hire a Production Engineer at its Louisiana plant. You'll own the technical side of a polymer production unit, with real ownership, visibility, and room to grow.
What you'll do:
- Take ownership of how your unit runs, from safety and quality to reliability and cost
- Lead process safety work, including MOCs, hazard reviews, and incident investigations
- Dig into operating data to solve process and equipment problems at the root
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality on improvement projects
- Build procedures and training, and help develop newer engineers
What we're looking for
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (required).Several years of hands-on experience in a chemical, polymer, or continuous process manufacturing plant
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a practical, mechanical mindset
- Comfortable working across teams on the plant floor
Nice to have: DCS and SAP experience Lean or Six Sigma background
