Role Description:
The Graduate Engineer In Training will work on-site in Rio Grande City, TX in a full-time capacity, supporting civil engineering and surveying projects from concept through construction. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with project design, preparing drawings and technical documents, performing basic calculations, and supporting field investigations and data collection. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers and project managers, coordinating with drafting and surveying teams, and helping ensure that project deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Graduate Engineer In Training will also participate in project meetings, assist with report preparation, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and client service.
Qualifications:
Foundational civil engineering knowledge, including exposure to site development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure design. Proficiency with engineering and drafting tools such as AutoCAD or similar design software, and basic skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).Ability to support field work, including data collection, site visits, and coordination with surveying teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in calculations, documentation, and plan review. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; eligibility for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or willingness to obtain it. Demonstrated reliability, professional work ethic, and willingness to learn from mentoring engineers. Familiarity with local or Texas regulations and standards for civil engineering projects is a plus.
