Musical Instruments Retail Sales Associate

Music & Arts is seeking a friendly Music Store Associate to support customers in our retail location. In this role, you’ll greet students, parents, and educators; recommend band and orchestra instruments, accessories, and sheet music; and support rentals, repairs, and lesson sign-ups. You’ll process sales and rentals using POS systems, maintain clean, organized displays, and assist with inventory and merchandising. Working in our collaborative, student-focused culture, you’ll help grow music education in your community while developing your skills in customer service and retail sales. Greet and assist customers including students, parents, and educators Recommend instruments, accessories, and sheet music based on needs and budget Support instrument rentals, returns, and repair intake Process sales and rentals accurately using POS systems Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing store displays Assist with inventory counts, stocking, and merchandising Promote and help schedule private lessons and educational services Provide basic product demonstrations and explain features and benefits Collaborate with team members to meet sales and service goals Uphold Music & Arts’ student-focused, service-oriented culture Customer service Retail sales Point-of-sale (POS) operation Cash handling Product knowledge – musical instruments Inventory management Merchandising Basic computer skills Communication skills Sales and add-on selling Previous retail or customer service experience preferred Basic music knowledge or ability to play an instrument strongly preferred Familiarity with band and orchestra instruments and accessories a plus Comfort using POS and basic computer systems Ability to work weekends, evenings, and peak retail periods
