Lead Azure Developer

About the role
We are looking for a Lead Azure Developer to join our engineering team and take ownership of designing, developing, and delivering scalable, secure, cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on software engineering leadership role for someone with deep Azure development experience who can solve complex technical challenges, drive architecture and development decisions, and mentor other engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade applications and services on Azure.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.
- Design and implement solutions using Azure compute, storage, database, messaging, integration, and monitoring services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the complete SDLC, from design and development through deployment and production support.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to software engineering, security, performance, and coding standards.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Managers, DevOps, QA, Data Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and drive root-cause resolution.
- Support CI/CD automation and cloud deployment processes.
- Mentor and guide developers, helping establish strong engineering practices and technical standards.
- Evaluate new Azure capabilities and recommend technologies that improve scalability, reliability, and engineering efficiency.
- Azure & Cloud SkillsStrong hands-on experience with several of the following:
- Azure App Services
- Azure Functions
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Azure API Management
- Azure Service BusAzure Event Grid / Event HubsAzure Storage
- Azure SQL / Cosmos DBAzure Key VaultAzure Monitor / Application Insights
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure ADAzure DevOps and CI/CDDocker and Kubernetes
- Terraform / Bicep or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies
- Qualifications7–10+ years of professional software development experience
- Significant hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft AzureProven experience building and supporting production-grade cloud applications
- Strong backend development and software engineering fundamentals
- Experience leading technical initiatives and making architecture/design decisions
- Ability to mentor developers and provide technical direction
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
