Posted: 25 August 2026 DescriptionJob Summary The Airborne Solutions (AirS) Division within the Airborne Mission Solutions Business Area of Leidos is seeking aLUH‑72A Lakota Instructor Pilotto support the Army National Guard (ANG) Aviation Training Services and Operational Support (ATSOS)program in Marana, Arizona. This role places you at the center of a mission that directly strengthens Army National Guard aviation readiness throughadvanced flight training , simulation instruction, andschoolhouse supportacross the One Army School System (OASS). As the prime contractor for ATSOS, Leidos delivers a full spectrum of aviation training capabilities—including platform instruction, simulation operations, classroom academics, and Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) support. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a high‑impact environment where your instruction shapes the next generation of Army aviators. You will providein‑flight instructionon LUH‑72A aircraft, lead instructor qualification courses, support readiness level progressions, and contribute to both regional and foreign military training. Instructor Pilots also perform Instructor Operator duties and deliver platform academic instruction in alignment with AR 95‑1, TRADOC Programs of Instruction (POI), UH‑60 dATM, and AATS SOPs. All activities must meet the standards outlined in DCMA INST 8210‑1D. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your aviation experience to a mission that truly matters.
Primary Responsibilities: Maintain training recordsfor formal course students and ATP documentation for readiness level (RL) progression trainees. Deliver instruction and evaluationto student pilots in accordance with AATS‑approved Training Support Packages. Conduct daily academic instructionfor approved POIs, including Aircraft Qualification, Instructor Pilot, Aircraft Standardization, Maintenance Test Pilot, and Aviation Tactics Instructor Courses (ATIC). Lead pre‑mission planningand after‑action reviews for all flight and simulation events. Fulfill all ATP requirementsper DCMA INST 8210‑1D, AR 95‑1, and applicable dATMs, including participation in the No‑Notice Evaluation Program. Coordinate daily taskssuch as schedules and leave to support AATS training requirements and schoolhouse accreditation. Ensure compliancewith Army, National Guard, and AATS policies, procedures, and regulations. Collaborate with the GFRto verify contractor qualifications for aviation‑training tasks per DCMA INST 8210‑1D. Report Instructor Flight and Operations datafor the Task Order Monthly Report.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma with 8 years’ experienceorBachelor’s Degree with 4 years’ experience. Instructor Pilot experiencewith at least 250 military IP flight hours and/or 2 years of IP experience at a USAACE‑approved or OASS‑accredited program. USAACE/AATS (or equivalent) IP qualificationin the aircraft type assigned. Instructor Training Course (ITC) or ABIC qualification, or ability to complete AATS‑provided ABIC within 12 months of hire. FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. FAA Second Class Medical or Army Class 2 FDME(per DCMA 8210.1D). Experience as SP, IE, and/or IPin an OASS school, MTOE, or TDA organization at company or battalion level. Meet instructor qualification requirementsper TR 350‑10 and TR 350‑70. Adhere to DCMA INST 8210.1Dfor all Rated and Non‑Rated Crewmember operations. Complete ACT‑E qualification and sustainment trainingper TC 3‑04.11. Hold a favorable background investigation or security clearanceappropriate to the information accessed.
