Veterinary Technican / RVT

Skills required: Currently registered with the California Veterinary Medical Board Effective communication skillsknowledge of vaccination protocols, pharmacology, nutrition and animal husbandry and care Must be able to assist in surgery, collect samplestake dental digital xrays, and radio graphs for the bodyable to assist veterinarian in restraint of animal, care of animal including surgical prep and dental prophylaxis Technician must be able to educate clients of the care and condition of their pet Knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment needed, and operation of the equipment Skills preferred:calm when under pressure Pleasant, courteous, and polite to clients and co workers.excellent customer service, able to explain medical conditions and terms to clients. Responsibilitiesworking with veterinarian on care of animalsmonitoring surgical patients and recovering patients Surgical logs, and controlled logsinventory and supplies stockedwork with veterinarians and rest of staff in the flow of the hospitalhelping the veterinarian with call backs to clients and estimatesperforming dental prophylaxissurgical prepmaintaining the equipment used in surgery and diagonistics
