American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN for a 10-week winter coverage contract requiring a CT or compact RN license and at least 2 years of step down experience. Details Step Down unit within a short term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds Level II Trauma Center, part of the Yale New Haven Health SystemShift schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts, Every other weekend required Floating required as needed for the department Patient ratio of 1:3Charting completed in Epic10-week contract for winter coverage only
Requirements:
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) requiredBLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredPCCN or CCRN certification preferredCPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Experience with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and renal patient populations
- Skilled in arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation and airway management
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration1 professional reference required
Additional Information:
- Provide direct patient care to step down level patients including cardiac, neurological, and respiratory cases
- Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
- Free parking available on site
- No holiday RTO permitted for this assignment
- Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
- Local radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations acceptedCOVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered
