Job Description:
R&J Utility is a family-owned and oriented construction company located in Tolleson, AZ. Our company was founded in 2017 and we have since built a reputation for delivering high-quality and reliable construction services to our clients across the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. We specialize in residential underground utility work including sewer, water, storm drain, dry utilities and streetlights. We are seeking an experienced estimator with a thorough knowledge of the estimating process and a strong ability to read civil engineering plans for residential and commercial jobs. Your main responsibility will be to estimate work for sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utility and streetlight projects. In this job, you will be an integral part of our team and work closely with our Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
Handle multiple bids per week and meet strict deadlines Complete accurate quantity take-offs per plans and specifications Create and coordinate project estimates, proposals, and bid documents Create accurate and detailed cost estimates for underground wet and dry utility projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs Obtain and compare vendor and supplier pricing Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and customers Additional duties include: ordering, scheduling, and bluestake
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in underground construction estimating Experience in Water, Sewer, Storm Drain, Dry Utilities and Streetlights Minimum 5 years experience working in Phoenix/Maricopa County area Strong knowledge of MAG standards and local supplement specifications Experience with software programs related to takeoff Bilingual: Spanish (Preferred but not required)Proficient in office software: Excel, Word, Adobe Ability to multi-task and good time-management skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Critical-thinker and problem-solver
