AmeriCorps Student Success Coach – Education Nonprofit

City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class support to partner teachers and help manage a positive learning environment Lead small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects to improve student achievement Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Track and document student progress and participation using City Year tools and systems Support attendance initiatives and student engagement activities Assist with planning and leading school-wide events, service projects, and after-school programs Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to meet student and school goals Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors and school partners about student needs and progress Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year policies, service standards, and values Youth mentoring Tutoring/academic support Classroom management support Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, learning platforms) Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration Time management and organization Cultural competence and inclusivity practices Basic behavior support strategies Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (meets citizenship and background requirements) Ability to pass required background checks Some prior experience working with youth preferred
