Senior Project Controls Specialist (Cost Analyst) Cordoba is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist (Cost Analyst) to support the Facilities Sector. The Senior Project Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of project budgets and financial forecasts in alignment with established procedures. This role leads and contributes to monthly EAC reviews by validating cost data, analyzing variances, and providing clear justification for changes. The specialist supports change management by identifying emerging trends, risks, and exposure factors, and actively participates in Risk Assessment workshops to evaluate financial impacts and recommend mitigation strategies. Additionally, the role conducts detailed cost variance analyses to uncover performance drivers and proactively address potential budget impacts. Responsibilities include overseeing the integrity and accuracy of project budgets and forecasts in compliance with approved standard operating procedures, actively participating in monthly EAC meetings, contributing to change management discussions, engaging in Risk Assessment workshops, conducting thorough cost variance analyses, continuously monitoring trends and associated mitigation plans, reviewing project budgets and expenditures, collaborating closely with schedulers, reviewing and analyzing monthly cost reports and progress reports, analyzing staffing plans, validating cost coding and budget allocations, ensuring that contracts, purchase orders, task order, change orders, and amendments are accurately budgeted and reported, enforcing cost management policies and procedures, allocating Estimate to Complete amounts, managing and monitoring ETCs for each project, creating comprehensive reports related to budgeting, cost control, auditing, and asset tracking, working closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers, conducting budget and financial reconciliations, supporting management with the preparation of regular budget and cost reports, assisting with preparing regular and ad hoc reports on project budgets, financial status, and forecasting, providing support for weekly/monthly cost and status reports, performing necessary data entry tasks related to budget and forecast updates, developing and maintaining change management logs, traveling to offsite project locations as required, and undertaking additional duties and special projects assigned.
Qualifications include:
7 - 10 years minimum recent professional experience in project controls, particularly on a capital construction program, a BS/BA Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, and/or related degree, strong analytical capabilities, proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel functions, exceptional attention to detail, advanced problem-solving skills, ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders, proven track record of working independently and meeting tight deadlines, strong business acumen, comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, and additional preferred qualifications such as advanced proficiency with program management software, expertise in business intelligence and analytics tools, hands-on experience with Data Warehousing solutions, strong understanding of cost control and budgeting principles, in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, demonstrated ability to integrate multiple data sources, and ability to troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues.
Salary range: $128,000 to $145,000/yearly
