Call Required: NoBoard Certification Required: Negotiable Job Duration: LocumsAbout the Facility The facility operates a hospital-based laboratory supporting a network of 5 total hospitals and maintains established protocols for specimen processing and diagnostic workflow management. The department is staffed by 6 physicians and 18 anatomical support staff members to facilitate coordinated case processing. On-site locum tenens coverage is sought beginning in January on an ongoing basis, with flexibility for part time or full time scheduling.
About the Facility Location:
The area is situated in the Susquehanna River Valley and offers access to a range of outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking, boating, and fishing at nearby destinations. Skiing is available at regional mountain destinations, and the Finger Lakes region provides access to tours, wineries, and related attractions. Clinicians on assignment will also find waterfront dining options along the Allegheny River and a variety of local community amenities during time away from clinical duties. About the Clinician's Workday Clinicians will provide inpatient pathology coverage Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call responsibilities associated with this assignment. Clinical duties include review of cytology, breast, GI, and skin specimens, with a daily case volume of 100-120 total cases in the lab; GYN cases are not included in this assignment. Grossing is required and constitutes approximately 7.5 hours per day; frozen sections are not required. Both part time and full time candidates are considered for this locum tenens engagement.
