Behavior Intervention Specialist Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Behavior Intervention Specialist at a supportive educational environment near Plano, TX. In this full-time contract role (37.5 hours per week), you'll collaborate closely with educators, students, and families to promote positive behavioral growth and meaningful academic success. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree highly regarded
- Valid Texas teaching certification with SPED (Special Education) endorsements
- Background in SPED, social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
- Preferably holds or is working toward School Counselor, LPC, BCBA certification
- Practical experience supporting students in school settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of behaviors
- Actively participate in ARD, IEP, RtI, and 504 meetings as a behavior expert
- Support classroom staff with interventions and crisis response as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration to promote a positive school climate
- Maintain clear documentation of student progress and interventions
