Psychiatric Registered Nurse

Oakwood Springs, a leading behavioral health hospital in Oklahoma City, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for adults and adolescents with mental health and substance use disorders. In this role, you’ll complete assessments, administer medications, monitor safety, and support crisis stabilization in inpatient and outpatient settings. You’ll work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on dignity, hope, and recovery. Provide direct nursing care to adult and adolescent behavioral health patients in inpatient and outpatient settings Perform assessments, develop and update individualized treatment plans, and document care in the EMR Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage withdrawal or psychiatric symptoms safely Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members on care coordination Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies, following hospital safety and de-escalation protocols Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning Support a compassionate, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care environment Precept or mentor new staff and contribute to ongoing quality and safety initiatives Comply with all regulatory, infection control, and documentation standards Psychiatric nursing Behavioral health assessment Medication administration (psychotropics and detox protocols) Crisis intervention and de-escalation Suicide risk and safety assessment Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Group and patient education Trauma-informed care practices Regulatory and compliance standards in behavioral health Active RN license in Oklahoma Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Crisis Prevention/Intervention (e.g., CPI) preferred Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred
