About the role

Overview: In this role you will lead material control on complex projects, applying disciplined procurement, expediting, and data-driven forecasting to ensure timely delivery of materials. You will work closely with engineers and the MATMAN system to develop specifications, manage material take-offs, and maintain accurate BOMs. The position reinforces Fluor's competitive edge through technical excellence and reliable project support. This is a hands-on role with impact on project schedules and safety-critical instrumentation delivery. Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing Instrument Line Class Specifications (Z-Spec)
  • Build and issue Z-Specs from the global MATMAN database
  • Understand instrument assemblies and installation details and related materials
  • Develop and assemble installation details and composites with MATMANDevelop and issue the Instrument Material Control Plan
  • Perform material take-off analyses from drawings
  • Review BOM/material take-offs produced by others
  • Interface Hexagon Smart Instrumentation – MATMANPerform Material Control tasks (requisitions, material lookups, etc.)Ensure RFQs, POs, and TBEs for instrumentation follow project guidelines
  • Coordinate with Responsible Engineers to verify quantities source and attribution
  • Provide procurement and expediting support in line with project requirements
  • Keep Discipline Engineer/Material Control Manager updated on material status
Key requirements:
  • Two-year accredited degree or global equivalent with six years of related experience, or eight years of related experience without a degree
  • Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and contractors
  • Job-related technical knowledge to complete the role
  • Ability to learn and apply relevant statutes and guidelines
