Overview:
In this role you will lead the daily accounts payable operations within a high-volume environment and manage a team of AP professionals. You will ensure accurate invoice processing, timely vendor payments, and employee expense handling, while partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Treasury. You'll drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and maintain strong internal controls. The position supports acquisitions, integrations, and close activities, contributing to Crescent Energy's disciplined, returns-driven growth.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and develop the Accounts Payable team with coaching and performance management
- Oversee timely processing of vendor invoices via OpenInvoice and SAPManage daily AP activities including invoice approvals, coding validation, payments, and exception resolution
- Monitor workflow queues in OpenInvoice and OpenTicket to meet service levels
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Review and approve payment proposals, ACHs, wires, and checks per policy
- Reconcile AP subledgers and related balance sheet accounts timely
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including accruals and reconciliations
- Maintain SOX compliance and internal controls
- Manage vendor onboarding and vendor master data accuracy
- Analyze AP metrics to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives for efficiency
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, and integration activities affecting AP processes and systems
- Assist with internal and external audit requests with documentation
- Serve as escalation point for complex vendor/system/payment issues
Key requirements:
- 8+ years AP experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in high-volume AP environment
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Experience with SAPExperience using OpenInvoice and OpenTicketAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)leadershipcustomer-service mindsetcommunicationSAPOpenInvoiceOpenTicket
