About the role

Academic Support Teacher (Resource Room) Royal Oak Schools announces the following open certified position for the 2026-27 school year: Academic Support Teacher (Resource Room) (1.0 FTE) .5 Upton Elementary .5 Addams Elementary
Qualifications:
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with full Special Education certification
  • Endorsement in one of more areas in Special Education
  • Teaching experience in Special Education preferred
  • Experience with educational assessments and report writing
  • Training in AARI Reading Intervention preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills
  • Documentation of possessing the following by course work, in-service training or work experience:
  • Analysis and interpretation of assessment data to determine individual student plans
  • Knowledge of the effects of disabilities on an individual's learning, behavior, and work potential
  • Ability to analyze performance and learning problems needed to help students succeed
  • Ability to use data to determine individual academic and behavioral needs in order to write measurable educational goals and objectives and assist in determining programming, services, and accommodations
Reports To: Building Principal
Salary: Appropriate placement on the ROEA salary schedule
