Inpatient Hematology Registered Nurse

TriStar Health in Nashville is seeking an Inpatient Hematology Nurse to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adults with blood disorders and related conditions. In this role, you’ll perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications and transfusions, monitor complex treatment regimens, and collaborate with hematologists and a multidisciplinary team. You’ll educate patients and families, support safe discharges, and contribute to unit safety and quality initiatives within a patient-first, learning-focused culture that promotes career growth. Provide evidence-based inpatient nursing care to hematology patients, including assessments, medication administration, and transfusion support Monitor and interpret vital signs, labs, and treatment responses; promptly escalate changes in patient condition Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and adhere to safety and infection control standards Administer chemotherapy and blood products per protocol and manage central lines when credentialed Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and unit-based projects Support onboarding and mentoring of new staff and contribute to a collaborative team culture Inpatient hematology nursing Oncology/hematology assessments IV therapy and infusion management Blood product administration and monitoring Chemotherapy administration (if certified) Central line care and maintenance Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Infection prevention and safety protocols Interdisciplinary care coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license in TN or compact state BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred ONS/chemotherapy certification preferred Hematology/Oncology nursing experience preferred
