Lead Trauma Registered Nurse

Mission Health in Asheville, NC is seeking a Trauma Nurse Lead to guide high-acuity patient care in our regional trauma program. In this role you will coordinate trauma response, perform rapid triage and evidence-based interventions, and collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, and ancillary teams. You will mentor and precept nurses, support education on trauma best practices, and drive quality and safety initiatives. Lead and coordinate nursing care for trauma patients in a fast-paced acute setting Triage, assess, and implement evidence-based trauma interventions and protocols Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes Supervise, mentor, and precept trauma nursing staff and new team members Ensure documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards Participate in trauma performance improvement, audits, and clinical initiatives Support staff education on trauma best practices, equipment, and safety procedures Trauma nursing Emergency/ER nursing Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) TNCC or equivalent trauma certification Triage and rapid assessment Critical care skills (ventilators, drips) Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Clinical leadership and charge nurse skills Quality improvement and patient safety Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active RN license BLS certification ACLS certification PALS certification (or obtained within hire timeframe) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent CEN or TCRN certification preferred
