K-12 Academic Tutor – Education Nonprofit

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers with classroom activities and positive learning environments Monitor and report student progress using school and City Year tools Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and confidence Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to support school-wide initiatives Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Communicate with staff and supervisors about student needs and successes Tutoring in math Tutoring in English/ELA Small-group instruction Lesson reinforcement Classroom management Student progress monitoring Data entry and tracking Behavior support strategies Basic educational technology Professional communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve as an AmeriCorps member (including required background checks) Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred Basic proficiency in core academic subjects (math, reading, writing)
