K-12 Academic Tutor – Education Nonprofit

City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily academic tutoring in math and literacy to assigned students Support classroom instruction through small-group and one-on-one interventions Monitor and track student progress using school and City Year tools Collaborate with teachers and school staff to align student support Build positive, mentoring relationships that promote students’ social-emotional growth Lead or support enrichment, after-school, and attendance initiatives Communicate regularly with teammates and supervisors to coordinate services Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Tutoring in math Tutoring in literacy/ELA Small-group instruction Classroom behavior management Academic assessment Data entry and progress tracking Lesson implementation support Mentoring and youth development Family and teacher communication Basic technology (Google Suite/MS Office) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Ability to pass background check required for working in K–12 schools Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member (citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Demonstrated commitment to youth development, education, or social justice
