About the role
To support a growing team, the full-time California Licensed Underwriter will review and evaluate insurance applications, determine coverage levels and pricing, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines while working in a hybrid environment out of Los Angeles or Carlsbad.
Key responsibilities:
Adhere to underwriting guidelines and execute pricing strategies to maintain profitability goals
Approve or decline insurance applications and prepare referral submissions for risks exceeding authority limits
Document underwriting files, including risk analysis and pricing justification, in accordance with established standards
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
1-5 years of property and casualty underwriting or related insurance experience required
CPCU, CIC, CRIS, or Property & Casualty Brokers License preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software quickly
Willingness to work in a hybrid model from Los Angeles or Carlsbad office
